The transformation sequence is smooth and the die-cast weight gives it a premium feel, but the tampo printing on the chest could be sharper under close inspection. Still, for a Macross fan, it’s the definitive 1/48 VF-1S.

The die-cast metal joints feel incredibly sturdy during transformation, and the pre-applied markings save me from worrying about stickers. This Valkyrie looks fantastic in both fighter and Battroid modes.

The transformation sequence is so smooth I actually caught myself grinning the first time I switched it from fighter to battroid. The die-cast weight in the legs makes it feel properly premium, and the movie-accurate markings on the 1/48 scale are crisp enough to read without a magnifier.
