Transformers Studio Series 86 - Leader Astrotrain

Astro's been my shelf centerpiece since he arrived — the shuttle mode especially looks fantastic and the train mode rolls smoothly on its wheels. Getting him into robot form takes a few minutes with those 29 steps, but the articulation once he's posed makes it worth it.

The transformation is a bit fiddly around the shoulders but so satisfying once it clicks into train mode. For a 6 3/4-inch Leader figure he's surprisingly hefty, and the alt mode looks great on my shelf next to the movie cast.

The train mode is incredibly detailed and holds together well—it's a solid 6-inch figure. Transforming him back and forth is satisfying once you get the hang of the steps.
